Self-funded

As a self-funded student you can securely pay your tuition fees in full by card or by bank transfer, or in most cases we can agree for you to pay by instalments.

What does self-funded mean?

You may be considered to be a self-funded student if you are:

  • funding your own studies
  • getting financial help from family or friends
  • receiving financial assistance direct from an external funder (excluding educational loans from a government agency)

Receiving an educational loan

If you are receiving an educational loan then you are not considered to be a self-funded student.

Summary of Paying your Student Academic Fees - You can choose to pay in full or in most cases instalments:

Each academic year, as part of matriculation, you must complete online registration and either confirm your funding or arrange payment of your student academic fees. This is a required step in the registration process.

Pay In Full - You can pay your student academic fees in full by card, Flywire bank transfer, or online payment platform as part of the online registration process. If you are unable to make an immediate payment during registration, an invoice will be issued once you complete registration. The invoice must be paid in full within 30 days of the issue date. Please check Pay your student academic fees in one payment for further information.

Advance payments before online registration can be made via MyFinance channel in MyEd.

Pay in Instalments - in most cases, you can set up a payment plan during annual registration to pay your student academic fees in instalments. Please check Pay your student academic fees by instalmenfor further information.

Module and individual course fees are payable in full within 30 days of the invoice date and cannot [GL1] be paid by instalment. An invoice will be issued once your course selections are confirmed, and payment should be made via the MyFinance channel in MyEd.

Payment for the student academic fee instalment is due on the third of each month, additional programme costs, if part of your course, are due on the 5th of each month, as per your agreed instalment plan and will be automatically taken by the University from the card you provided on this date.

Do not make any other form of payment method against this instalment seven days prior to this date to prevent being charged twice.

You can pay your student academic fees in full before or during online registration. Payments can be made by card, Flywire bank transfer or online payment platform.

To pay your tuition fees by instalment you will need to set up a Recurring Card Payment (RCP). This allows us to automatically take payments on three fixed dates from your card for each academic year of your studies. You do not need a UK bank account to set up an instalment plan.

We will set up your student fees account in My finance once your unconditional offer has been accepted and confirmed. You will be able to use My finance to view payments we receive from you and invoices we send to you.
