The University of Edinburgh’s annual Sustainability Awards offer a framework for staff and students to learn how to make the University more socially responsible and sustainable, and then take positive actions either in teams or individually. Topics include saving energy, reducing waste, purchasing more sustainable products, and improving wellbeing.

Printing Services have once again won a Gold Office Award for their commitment to sustainability. Having now taken part for 9 years in a row, they are our longest-running participant team. Congratulations to Janet Dalgarno and other members of the team.

Secondly, Peter Hayakawa was highly commended for a Changemaker Award for connecting multiple individuals across the University in order to undertake a collaborate approach to achieving operational and supply chain sustainability.

The Sustainability Awards 2020-21 will open in May 2020, when teams can register their interest in taking part once we’re all back on campus. Please continue to support teams taking part in your area and encourage more teams to sign up. Benefits include cost savings, increased team cohesion and improved staff wellbeing.
