This important work falls within the overall Service Excellence Programme; set up to build excellent, unified professional services that support making our University a great place to work and study. The Finance Helpline team will provide phone and online support, referring queries to specialist teams where necessary. They will also develop self-help resources to assist users with common issues. Although the Finance Helpline will provide a first point of contact for many queries, University staff who have an assigned contact in a specialist team such as Procurement or Research Grants will still be able to contact that person directly. A new Finance Systems team will also launch in January, providing an integrated approach to finance systems administration and strategy. This team will be key to the implementation of the new core finance system, which will combine the functions of a range of current systems. This work is being led by Craig Henderson, Head of Finance Systems: The new structure brings together a number of already successful services into one place, accessible through a single point of contact, and will provide a streamlined and efficient service for customers.
