As you may be aware, the University and College Union (UCU) has called strike action between Monday 24th February and Friday 13th March. Read on to find out how Finance will be dealing with any disruption. Finance services could be affected during this strike, as they were in December 2019. This time, we will be using the University’s text service to keep Team Finance informed of issues as or if they arise. Therefore you may receive a text updating you in February or March, should Charles Stewart House become unavailable to us. We also ask that those working on laptops take their device home at night while strike action is ongoing. This is so that they can work remotely if the strike impacts any of our buildings. If you normally work from a desktop, please do not shut down your machine this weekend or during potential strike action. Instead, simply ‘lock’ it; this will allow you to ‘wake’ the device from MyEd if you need to work elsewhere. Further help on all aspects of remote working can be found here. Please speak with your line manager if you have any questions or concerns about procedure during the strike action, it’s important we all remain informed at this time.
