Procurement Award Success

The University was recognised with two awards at the recent Conference on University Purchasing (COUP), including a Lifetime Achievement Award for Procurement Director Karen Bowman.

Innovative Procurement Award

This was awarded for the recent Core project. The judges said:

A multi-disciplined core project team was assembled engaging with schools, colleges and professional service teams. The Competitive Dialogue procedure was used to great effect engaging negotiation consultants to assist in obtaining best value and develop the optimum structure of the procedure and introduce innovative requirements to deliver and support the Service Excellence programme (SEP) vision

We were also Highly Commended at COUP for our Sustainable Procurement Initiative dealing with Community Benefits and overall approach to sustainable procurement. 

The Procurement Team have also been shortlisted for the GO Awards Scotland, taking place on 29 October in Glasgow. Our colleagues will battle it out in the Infrastructure or Capital Project of the Year and Team of the Year categories.
