Research Grants: UKRI Institutional Review

In June, we'll be working with UK Research and Innovation to review how we manage their research grants and contracts.

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) is a newly formed organisation operating across the whole of the UK, bringing together the seven Research Councils, Innovate UK and a new organisation, Research England. UKRI has a combined budget of more than £6 billion, and aims to be an outstanding organisation that ensures the UK maintains its world leading position in research and innovation, by creating a system that maximises the contribution of each of the component parts and creates the best environment for research and innovation to flourish.

UKRI will be visiting in the University in June to review our management of their research grants and contracts. The team will be here on the 14 - 15 June 2018.

How you can help

UKRI are currently reviewing our files and identifying transactions they wish to review further.

We would appreciate your help in getting ready for the audit. Please ensure that your worktribe files are updated with any outstanding documentation e.g. emails, school review documentation etc. If you need help to update your information please email your Research Grant Administrator and they will be able to assist.

UKRI have already identified some projects they wish to review and your Research Grant Administrator will contact you to let you know if your grant has been selected. However, when they visit in June, they may require additional information or look at different projects and we would appreciate a quick response from you during this period.

UKRI will also be presenting at the Research Management Conference in June and giving an overview of their new structure and strategy. You can find out how about the conference and register to attend using the button below. The conference may be of interest to you if you are involved in supporting research at the University.
